Task 1: Run the Refiner

Description: Testnet participants are required to run the Refiner from July 12th to July 26th.

Complexity: Simple

<aside> 💡 The latest one can begin running the Refiner is July 14th at 00:00 UTC. It is at this time the Covalent team will begin monitoring the performance of each participant.
While the testnet starts on July 12th, this additional time is to give everyone a chance to onboard in time. The testnet ends on July 27th 00:00 UTC. It is at this point you can stop running the Refiner.

Prerequisites: To participate in this, please make sure you have sent your Reward and Operator address to the Covalent team if you did not already in the application.

Furthermore, ensure you have:

TestnetCQT in your Reward address. This will be sent to your address prior to onboarding.
and DEV tokens in your Reward address and Operator address. This can be acquired through the Moonbase Alpha Faucet.

If you wish to change either address or did not receive TestnetCQT, please reach out to NiallY#6808 on Discord before July 11th.

Monitoring Performance: Furthermore, participants will be able to view their own performance to a) know that they are running the Refiner and b) monitor their uptime.

The first involves monitoring the Prometheus dashboard that can be enabled with the Refiner. To set this up, please follow these instructions. Furthermore, pay close attention to the following metric:

Block Result Uploads: These show how many block results you have successfully uploaded to the storage instance.

Second, you can view if your Operator address is uploading proofs to the ProofChain contract on Moonbase Alpha. If your address is successfully making a transaction with the method Submit Block Result, your Refiner is working.
